North Shore Nephrology P.C., was founded by Dr. Simon Prince in the summer of 2002 after completion of his training at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset. After experiencing excellent early growth, in July 2003 he added Dr. Sayed Ali who was a graduating fellow at North Shore as well. The practice continued to prosper, and in 2005 a third physician, Dr. Gerard Tepedino, joined the group after completing his nephrology fellowship at Cornell-New York Hospital. The practice has continued to grow and most recently added two graduating nephrologists: Dr. Alicia Notkin completing her fellowship at New York University and Dr. Theodore Tzeremas after finishing his training at the University of Pennsylvania.
The doctors are board certified in Internal Medicine and in the specialty of Nephrology, with a practice emphasis on chronic kidney disease and hypertension. The practice is located on the north shore of Long Island in Manhasset, NY. They serve the area of eastern Queens and see patients throughout Long Island. Currently, they are on staff at the three largest hospitals in the area: North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, Long Island Jewish Hospital in New Hyde Park and St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn.
At North Shore Nephrology, our mission is to provide the highest quality medical care with the utmost compassion and respect. Our physicians and staff work together to help each patient in every way possible. We strive to treat our patients as family, and to make each visit with us a pleasant and positive experience.
Occasionally serving as primary care givers, they are mainly consultants in the field of nephrology and hypertension. As consultants, their practice model revolves around building a strong partnership with the primary or referring physician. Through consultation and close communication, they advise the referring physician on how to best optimize their patients’ care using the clinical experience and expertise of specialists.
